BMW Massachusetts - bmw customer events http://www.massbmw.com/20090625-peabody-dealer/ http://www.massbmw.com/20090625-peabody-dealer/#comments Thu, 25 Jun 2009 18:12:04 +0000 admin http://www.massbmw.com/?p=247 BMW of Peabody partnered with the Children’s Trust Fund to help raise money during the second annual Fatherhood Golf Classic at Red Tail Golf course in Devens, MA.  The community oriented BMW dealership donated a 328i to sit on the 11th hole.  The car would have been awarded to the golfer that could sink a hole in one at that hole.

The Children’s Trust Fund sponsors programs that address family issues, child development, shaken baby prevention and child sexual abuse. The Trust Fund also empowers parents to become more involved in the lives of their children and the surrounding community.   This was the second year for the golf fundraiser.  Last year, the Lyon Waugh organization which owns several dealerships throughout Massachusetts donated a MINI Cooper as the hole in one prize.

Although there was no hole in one at the 11th hole, there was an excellent turnout of 84 people who all had a wonderful time.  Undoubtedly, the opportunity to win a BMW was on the minds’ of many golfers!

BMW of Peabody is immersed in community outreach projects 365 days of the year.  Their partnership with the Susan G Komen foundation has helped to raise over $300,000 over the past 11 years with their Ultimate Drive Campaign.  For every mile driven, $1 is donated to the SGK foundation.  Additionally, Bud Lyon and Warren Waugh personally dated over $100,000 towards the construction of the YMCA in Peabody/Lynnfield.  The dealership is also responsible for a $100,000 gift in computers for the Peabody School system and countless other charitable gestures.   BMW of Peabody is also a major sponsor of Boston College Athletics.

Concord Museum in Massachusetts provides immeasurable educational opportunities for children of the Concord community.  Each year, BMW of Peabody helps attract participants to the annual golf tournament by donating a 328i Coupe to the event.  The coupe is placed on the 12th hole, and if a hole in one is made, that golfer gets to take home the brand new car.

Warren Waugh and Marshal Cabot have led BMW of Peabody through countless community outreach events.  The dealership is immersed in community projects 365 days of the year including partnerships with the Susan G Komen foundation which has helped to raise over $300,000 over the past 11 years.  Additionally, Bud Lyon and Warren Waugh donated funds towards the construction of the YMCA in Peabody/Lynnfield.  The dealership is also responsible for gifts in computers for the Peabody School system and countless other charitable gestures.

Warren Waugh commented on the dealership’s commitment to community service by saying, “The only way to run a business is to support the community and the people with whom you do business with.  I’ve said it for years, we are not just a car dealer.  We are a part of the community.  Our families live here.  We will continue to support the community in every way we can.”

The event took place June 22nd at the Concord Country Club.  For more information on BMW of Peabody, please visit their website at http://www.bmwpeabody.com/dealership/about.htm

This year, they continue the tradition by holding their annual Ultimate Drive Campaign. For the past 11 years, the Boston area BMW dealership has been a driving force behind Massachusetts fundraisers for the Susan G. Komen foundation.

Massachusetts residents are invited to get behind the wheel of BMW of their choice in the BMW Ultimate Drive® supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure event. There will be plenty of BMW models to test drive, such as the thrilling and dynamic 3 Series Coupe, the sporty X3 SAV® and this year’s Signature Vehicle, the X6. For every mile driven, BMW will donate $1 to Susan G. Komen. Since the program’s inception in 1997, the event has raised over $11 million dollars nationwide for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

This is BMW of Peabody’s biggest philanthropic event of the year and the dealership is proud to be part of this amazing foundation. BMW of Peabody also raises several thousands of dollars for the Foundation throughout the year with a silent auction.

Information about the Massachusetts dealership is available at http://lease.bmwpeabody.com

Boston area residents are encouraged to take part in the BMW Ultimate Drive. The event is free, easy and rewarding. There will be food, refreshments and silent auctions through the day. General Manager, Marshal Cabot stated, “Massachusetts residents can help us make a huge difference in the battle against breast cancer. Their participation and miles can help the Susan G. Komen foundation reach their goal of raising $12 million during this year’s event with BMW nationwide.”

The event will be held Tuesday September 23 10am-5:30 pm. Massachusetts residents can call BMW of Peabody for more information.
